Five top tips for a successful leaflet campaign

Five top tips for a successful leaflet campaign
1. Plan ahead
Give yourself enough time to get all the key information together, that will go into your leaflet.
- Allow 1 whole day to write and polish the text.
- Allow up to 4 days for design of the leaflet, including seeing variants that will not proceed.
- Allow 7 days for printing
That’s 2 weeks
2. Choose a good leaflet delivery company
Make sure your chosen delivery company can cover the area that you have selected, and provide proof of delivery, like GPS tracking. Cost is always a factor, but cheapest is seldom the best.
3. Create a good offer, with a timely deadline
A leaflet is not a full range brochure, nor is it your whole menu. A leaflet should highlight what you do, and include an offer to encourage you to try. That could be a discount, a free something or entry into a draw to win a big thing. An offer without a deadline is less effective than one with a deadline – but allow enough time for your leaflets to be delivered before the offer expires.
4. Create an eye-catching design
Graphic design is very subjective, but you do need to make sure the important parts of your offer stand out and catch the eye. Clever use of typography, and relevant photographs, will help immensely. Don’t waste the ‘back’ – printing one both sides is virtually the same cost as single sided. Include a map, a before-and-after pair of pictures. Put your name or logo on both sides, so whichever side is face up, it will communicate.
5. Don’t spread your message wide and thin
- Select a smaller area
- Repeat 4-6 weeks later
- Do it again a third time
- Then move on
